Welcome to Corfu, a captivating Greek island with a rich tapestry of history, stunning beaches, and picturesque landscapes. If you're seeking a unique and unforgettable way to experience the island, exploring Corfu by boat is the perfect choice. As a lifelong explorer of Corfu's shores, I'm excited to share my personal journey and insights into renting a boat to unlock the hidden gems and breathtaking beauty that this island has to offer.

Renting a Boat in Corfu

Renting a boat in Corfu opens up a world of possibilities. Whether you're an experienced sailor or a novice seeking adventure, there are various boat rental options available to suit your preferences. From motorboats and sailboats to catamarans and speedboats, you can choose the vessel that best matches your desired experience and level of comfort. Many rental companies offer flexible rental periods, allowing you to embark on a day trip or explore Corfu's coastline at your leisure.

Sailing Routes and Itineraries

With your boat as your guide, you have the freedom to chart your own course and discover Corfu's hidden treasures. Explore the stunning northeastern coast of Corfu, where you'll find beautiful turquoise waters and pristine beaches that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Sail towards Paleokastritsa, renowned for its breathtaking white cliffs and secluded beaches accessible only by boat. Don't miss the opportunity to venture further to the nearby islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, where you'll be mesmerized by the beauty of the caves and coves that adorn their coastlines.

How to Rent a Boat

If you want to visit the northeast of Corfu and Paleokastritsa, you have the option to rent a boat yourself from one of the numerous boat rental companies in Corfu. Even without a boat license, you can rent a small boat and drive it yourself. Alternatively, you can choose to pay an extra 100 euros to have a captain accompany you and take care of the navigation.

For those planning to venture to Paxos and Antipaxos, it is recommended to hire a boat with a captain for a private excursion. Typically, this option costs around 600 euros. Another alternative is to join one of the daily big cruises to Paxos. However, keep in mind that these cruises tend to depart very early in the morning and often involve being packed onto a large boat, which may not be as enjoyable for everyone.

Our favorite boat company in Corfu is Zeus Rentals. They provide an awesome service and offer a range of boat rental options to suit different preferences and budgets.

Pack the Essentials

Before setting sail, ensure you have the essentials packed for a comfortable and enjoyable boat experience. Bring along sunscreen, hats, towels, and plenty of drinking water to stay hydrated under the sun. Don't forget your snorkeling gear to explore the vibrant underwater world that surrounds Corfu. Having these essentials on board will allow you to make the most of your time on the boat and fully immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings.

Exploring Corfu by boat offers a unique and unforgettable way to experience the island's beauty and charm. Renting a boat allows you the freedom to discover hidden gems, secluded beaches, and breathtaking coastal landscapes that are otherwise inaccessible. From the stunning waters of the northeast to the white cliffs of Paleokastritsa and the enchanting islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, each area offers its own unique allure. So, set sail on the azure waters, let the sea breeze guide you, and embark on an extraordinary journey through Corfu's enchanting Greek waters.
